When it comes to hormone health, for too long women have been expected to accept dismissal, confusion and unnecessary suffering as normal.
The recent BALANCE docuseries brought into sharp focus how misinformation reigns in women’s hormone health, powerfully cutting through the myths to get to the truth. One of the prevailing messages of the series was that no woman should feel like they must suffer in silence.
It’s time we stand up together and make a change, because women deserve better.
And that’s where our new #NotMe campaign comes in.
About #NotMe
#NotMe challenges misinformation, outdated thinking and misogyny (both conscious and unconscious) that dictate women’s hormone health. It brings women’s stories and experiences into the open, giving a voice to the problems, barriers, difficulties and the dogma women face every single day. Through real faces and real stories, #NotMe aims to break down barriers through informed choice, empowerment through knowledge, and equal access to care.
How you can get involved
Over the coming months, we will be sharing women’s stories through the Balance app and via the Balance and Dr Louise Newson social media channels, and Dr Louise’s upcoming tour.
Here’s how you can get involved in the campaign:
Share your photo: snap a photo of yourself holding a simple sign with a statement about something related to your hormone health that you’re no longer willing to accept
Share your story: tell us about your experiences.
You can choose to share a photo, story – or even better, both. Share your contribution using the form linked at the bottom of this article to help amplify your voice. Through real stories and images, we can create community and push for real change.
Together, we’re saying #NotMe to hormone struggles.
